First Impressions

I was really excited when I received this brief as it was the first brief of 2nd year but after the long summer I found it quite difficult to get back into the swing of things. We had to design 8 looks for A/W 2011/12 along with creating illustration boards, mood board, colour board and fabric board. it was a daunting project at first but now that its complete I'm happy to continue on through the year improving with each project I get.

Final Design

Sorry about the delay in posting these images. I was going to wait and put up pictures from a photoshoot I'm planning but those plans have fallen apart so unfortunatly these are the best photos of my final garment that I have.

My final design turned out to be a top with giant power shoulders that you can open and close with fasteners. Its made mainly by jersey, ripped and then stuck onto the main structure of the piece. The shoulders were made simply by creating a pattern, cutting the material to that shape and filling with lots of wadding.I hope you like it!

Ranking Project!

So for the project I decided to stick with the theme of decay - I looked at decaying buildings and walls, cities that have been abandoned, mold on food and finally I stuck with the idea of rotting and decaying fruit. Here are some images I used as inspiration for the project.

Based on all the images I could, I began making swatches of material based on these pictures. I then placed them on a mannequin to show how they look on the body.
